Methods for Dehumidify of Construction Formwork

Building formworkis a formwork and support formed by pouring concrete. When the surface is exposed to a thin layer of air, the speed is close to zero, a stagnant air film named critical layer separates the air from the surface. The moisture can only evaporate through the air stream that slowly diffuses into the critical layer. The heat in the airflow can only slowly pass through the critical layer and be transferred to the inside of the veneer. In the drying process of building formwork, the direction of water movement is mainly the transverse conduction perpendicular to the direction of fiber arrangement, so the resistance is the pit resistance, followed by the hole resistance and the hole wall resistance. The greater resistance to evaporation is the critical layer where the surface of the veneer contacts the air.   

 

Therefore, in the drying process of the building formwork, the moisture is mainly transported through the fiber channel. In the wood moisture movement, the moisture in the log can use the cell cavity as a longitudinal channel. The wood discharged from both ends along the length of the fiber can also pass through the particle holes of the horizontal channel in the cell wall. There are many holes in the cell wall which can be used as a way of movement of water.
