The Differences Between OSB and Particle Board

What are the differences between OSB and solid wood particle board? Although both belong to particle board, there are essential differences.

Particle Board, also known as particleboard and chipboard, is a wood product made from chips of wood or sawdust. Its internal structure is irregular and scattered, easy to expand in a damp environment, with poor nail-holding power.

OSB, also known as Oriented Strand Board, is a kind of particle board, or we can say, particle board's stronger cousin. Both of them are engineered wood products made from wood pieces combined with resin. Compared with particle board, OSB has a regular internal structure and is more stable.

The OSB board adopts first-class environmental adhesive, which conforms to the European high environmental standard EN300 and conforms to the E1 standard. The formaldehyde release of OSB is almost zero, and even can be compared with natural wood, fully meeting people's needs for environmental protection and healthy life.
