Indicators of MDF Board Quality Inspection

Medium density fibreboard short in MDF is used for decoration in Concise style and Nordic style. It can also be used for furniture produce, such as wardrobe doors. It is a better cost-effective decoration board. So what indicators need to be considered during MDF quality inspection? Below we will do a brief introduce.

1. Formaldehyde emission

Generally, wood-based panel adhesives contain formaldehyde, but controlling the release of formaldehyde within a certain range will not harm to health. The national standard GB18580-2017 stipulated the limit value of formaldehyde emission is 0.124 mg/m3, and the mark is E1.

2. Water absorption expansion

The water absorption expansion reflects the water resistance and dimensional stability of the product. The higher the value, the worse the performance.

3. Bonding strength

The bonding strength of density board has internal bonding strength and surface bonding strength.

The internal bonding strength reflects the quality of the bonding between the fibers and the fibers in the board. The higher the better. Because high value means the stronger the ability of the board to withstand changeable temperature.

The surface bonding strength reflects the processing performance of the density board.

4. Static bending strength

The static bending strength is the pressure strength that the wood-based panel can withstand when it is bent to fracture. It reflects the product's bearing capacity and resistance to stress and deformation. The national standard for transverse static flexural strength should be 15.0 MPa.

5. Flame retardant and fireproof grade

The addition of flame retardant in the production process can suppress flames, reduce heat, effectively control fire, and reduce smoke toxicity. It is a functional wood-based panel commonly used in public places.

The above are some indicators of MDF quality inspection, I hope it is helpful for you.
